.: About Your Regional Associate Director

Ty got his start at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan where he majored in Music Performance on Bassoon and Organ. At GVSU, he had the opportunity to serve as a house council secretary, RHA Newsletter Editor, RHA Secretary, NCC, NRHH President, NRHH Representative, RHA Executive Vice President, Michigan Organization Communications Coordinator, and RHA President.  He also had the opportunity to be involved in Greek life and serve as a Resident Assistant at GVSU. At the state level, he served as the Parliamentarian for the Michigan Organization of Residence Hall Associations (MORHA).  He also had the opportunity to serve GLACURH as the Michigan Regional Communications Coordinator and then as  Associate Director of Finance and Administration for which he also served on the NACURH National Board of Directors.  Ty's first NACURH related conference was NACURH 2002 at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and he has been hooked ever since. Now Ty is in his second year at Kansas State University where he is studying College Student Personnel (student affairs). At K-State, he has the privilege of being an Assistant Coordinator for Apartment Living in the Jardine Apartments Complex.

In his spare time, Ty enjoys sitting at home and hanging out with his friends and colleagues.  He enjoys watching all kinds of movies and cooking/baking for his friends.  Ty LOVES Harry Potter (both the books and the movies).
